Instructions: To be given in feed. 4 heaped measures (50g) per day supplies the recommended supplement of 15mg of Biotin. Preferably fed at last evening feed as better absorption is achieved during the resting period.

Storage: Store in a dry place and replace lid after use.

The saying 'No foot, No horse' is often quoted in equine circles, and with good reason. By far the majority of incapacitation in the horse is found in the hoof or leg. Therefore maintaining sound hoof integrity is of prime importance. The life of the modern riding horse exerts additional pressure on the hoof. Sand schools and stable bedding can draw moisture from the hooves leaving them dry and brittle. While the unnatural physical forces of riding on roads can exaggerate any small crack. The supplementation of 15mg of Biotin daily has been found to be beneficial to horn growth and strength.

It is thought that biotin is of particular importance to the hoof surface membrane, the periople, which controls the passage of water in and out of the hoof, and which is easily damaged when the horse is in work. N.A.F. Biotin also contains additional nutrients found to be of importance in hoof growth. Approximately 50% of the keratin in the hoof wall is made of sulphur, hence the smell of burning sulphur when hot shoeing. Supplementation of a bio-available source of sulphur will encourage healthy horn growth, and be of particular use to those horses that suffer from brittle hooves. The amino acid DL Methionine, works with organic sulphur to establish good horn growth by providing the nutritional elements required to support cracks and nail holes. Zinc is added as a vital nutrient for hoof strength. Calcium is also added as reports show that biotin can only form bonds in the presence of calcium. Daily biotin supplement has been found to be beneficial to horn growth and strength.
